Susana Balbo has initiated the certification process for the production of organic grapes in two of its vineyards

This certification will allow the winery of the queen of Torrontés to start harvesting organic grapes in Agrelo, from 2022 on, and in Gualtallary, from 2023 on.

Susana Balbo, the winery of the first female winemaker of Argentina, has begun with the transition process of its Dominio Agrelo and Dominio Gualtallary estates in order to produce organic grapes in those vineyards from 2022 and 2023, respectively. This process is carried out in accordance with the commercial demands of the winery's main markets.

This audit progress is being performed by LETIS, a company dedicated to the certification of national and international standards of quality and sustainability in products and processes. LETIS has more than 12,000 certifications issued in more than 25 countries around the world, and each one of these certificates ensures that a certain operator complies with certain regulations or quality protocols, which is evaluated through a methodical system accredited by national and international organizations. The LETIS Organic Certification is conducted throughout the entire production chain (primary production, processing and marketing) and aims to ensure a possible productive management system that respects natural cycles, preserves and enhances the health of the ecosystems, contributes to achieve a high degree of biodiversity and makes a responsible use of energy and natural resources.

The winery of the queen of Torrontés had already shown its commitment to excellence and quality through the accreditation of the BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard for Food Safety, which guarantees the innocuousness of its products. This new certification, in addition to the implementation of the Sustainability Protocol of Bodegas de Argentina, the adherence to the United Nations Global Compact and the silver medal obtained in the category "Excellence in Sustainable Practices" of the Best of Mendoza's Wine Tourism 2022 awards, reflects Susana Balbo's conviction about the need to develop a responsible, ecofriendly winemaking practice.
