Equipped with the latest technology, Susana Balbo Wines is characterized by its simple and unique design, intended to produce high quality wines. The newly certified ISO 22000 reflects Susana Balbo Wines' strong desire to meet the highest international standards of food quality. Today, the winery’s philosophy is founded on three pillars: a strong commitment to nature through the use of sustainable practices, to our customers through the certification of international quality standards and to the community around us.

The winery has joined the Global Compact of the United Nations, a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

From the beginning we strive to develop sustainable practices:

• In the vineyard by avoiding the use of chemicals, limiting the use of machinery, controlling irrigation trough drip irrigation, and protecting our soil by using our own pruning waste (leaves and vine shoots) to nourish it.

• In the winery through the recycling of water, wood and cardboard.

• In our packaging by reducing the weight of our bottles to decrease our contribution to carbon footprint (total set of greenhouse gas -GHG- emissions caused by an organization, event, product or person).

Following its strategy to meet international quality standards, in 2009 Susana Balbo WInes gained ISO 22000 certification. This allows us to guarantee our customers the traceability of our products from the vineyard to the shelves of any country in the world, according to all food safety processes in wine production, control of water and the winery’s effluents.

Today, Susana Balbo Wines' project is characterized by its commitment to both its workers and the community of Agrelo, the village where the winery is located. The winery is involved in social projects by providing financial support to Agrelo community dining and Agrelo Soccer School. In 2009 Dominio del Plata Foundation was founded to provide education to the children of our employees and children of the community of Agrelo.
